Our Lunar Activites - It Comes In Waves - EP

OLA on Myspace

OUR LUNAR ACTIVITIES are Charles Clark (vocals/guitarist), James Reeves (bassist/vocals), Kevin Clark (drummer) and Derek Healey (guitarist). Formed by Charles Clark (Astrid, Zephyr's and The Reindeer Section) in Spring 2005 in Glasgow. The band went about creating a sound inspired by post grunge & lo-fi bands such as Pavement,Guided by voices,Sugar and Husker Du. They were to take these influences and back them up with the power and energy of punk metal. The subject matter was honest and direct. Having had a string of high profile supports such as The Wedding Present, Snow Patrol and Shiny Toy Guns, 2006 saw the band rise from strength to strength.

In July 2006 OLA signed a single deal to Neon Tetra records , a hip new Glaswegian label run by ex-Cosmic Rough Rider's frontman Daniel Wylie. "It comes in waves" was the product of this deal. Shortly before the deal was signed the band had already made a video for this track whilst at home in Stornoway , that summer. Little did the label or band realise the response it would receive. Made on a budget of £20 and inspired by David Lynch,Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Last House on the Left , the band wanted to make their own take on a music video. The short film would not have any performance and not feature any musical instruments whatsoever. The film was to convey the true anguish of the song's lyrical content. The video was then banned from been shown in full before the watershed in the UK. After having supported Snow Patrol in Killarney Stadium,Ireland 2005 , OLA found themselves on the same stage as The Patrol in Winter 2006 as part of the sold out Eye's Open Tour.

2007 see's the release of Our Lunar Activities 2nd release on Neon Tetra record's. "SOMEBODY KILL ME" will be released for download only and will be available for sale in March. With two international movie sountrack's and a finished album on the way, OUR LUNAR ACTIVITIES are set to launch. This release will coincide with the band's Scottish tour date's. OUR LUNAR ACTIVITIES intense sound glances between The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Psychedelic Furs orbiting around the darker moments in life.
